Stem Cell Therapy: Harnessing Mesenchymal Signaling Cells for Healing
Stem cells, often referred to as Mesenchymal Signaling Cells (MSCs), are the body’s primary internal repair mechanism. When we suffer an injury or tissue damage, these cells signal the body to release essential growth factors to ignite the healing process. At The Osteopathic Center, we utilize these powerful cells to substantially improve musculoskeletal issues and restore proper function.

Harnessing the power of stem cells for regenerative medicine, offering hope and healing through scientific advancements.
How Do Stem Cells Work?
When introduced into an injured area, stem cells signal site-specific cells to repair damaged tissue and re-establish organ function. Understanding the difference between Autologous (from your own body) and Allogeneic (from a donor) sources is key to tailoring your specific treatment plan.
Types of Regenerative Stem Cells
1. Amniotic Stem Cells (Allograft)
Amniotic stem cells are our primary choice for health and injury recovery. Obtained after healthy live-birth C-sections, this FDA-classified tissue allograft contains growth factors and micronized tissue that act as a structural component for regrowth.
- No Downtime: Unlike other sources, amniotic cells do not trigger an inflammatory response, making them ideal for professional athletes.
- Versatile Use: We use the full tissue for joint/ligament repair and pure fluid for scalp and facial rejuvenation.
2. Bone Marrow Stem Cells (BMAC)
Sourced from your own body, Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) is the most widely used stem cell treatment worldwide. It provides a rich mix of MSCs, hematopoietic cells (which regrow blood), and platelets. The procedure is a 45-minute outpatient task using only local anesthesia.
Note: Candidates on blood thinners or with certain medical conditions may need to explore alternative options.
3. Adipose Tissue Stem Cells
Adipose tissue (body fat) contains a significantly higher concentration of mesenchymal cells than bone marrow. Through a minimally invasive mini-liposuction, we extract fat cells from just below the skin, micronize them, and inject them immediately into the problem site for maximum regenerative effect.
4. Umbilical Cord Stem Cells
Sourced from screened, healthy donors, umbilical cord cells may contain the highest number of potent signaling cells. These are Adult Stem Cells, meaning they are highly specialized and safe, with no reported cases of rejection in our clinical experience.
The Science of Regrowth vs. Controversial Sources
It is important to distinguish between safe, adult regenerative therapies and other methods:
- Embryonic Stem Cells: These are NOT used at The Osteopathic Center. They are primitive, unpredictable, and currently not allowed in the United States for clinical use.
- Culture Expanded Stem Cells: While these are grown in labs to increase cell count, research suggests they may be less effective in the body than fresh, non-manipulated cells.
Why Choose Stem Cell Therapy at The Osteopathic Center?
Stem cell therapy is a pillar of Regenerative Injection Therapy. It offers a minimally invasive alternative to surgery, using the same biological growth factors found naturally in your body to treat:
- Chronic joint pain and osteoarthritis.
- Tendon and ligament tears (ACL, Rotator Cuff).
- Muscle injuries and degenerative conditions.
