An Introduction To Alternative Medicine

alternative medicine works

In the 1800s, a landmark battle in medicine took place. While Louis Pasteur championed the “Germ Theory,” focusing on killing microbes, his contemporaries argued for the “Inner Terrain”—the belief that if your internal environment is strong, germs cannot harm you. Even Pasteur, near the end of his life, reportedly admitted that the terrain is everything.

Today, while Western medicine remains focused on fighting germs, The Osteopathic Center carries on the paradigm of the inner terrain. We focus on strengthening your body’s machinery through advanced alternative and regenerative therapies.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI): Sanitizing from Within

Most people know UV light kills germs on surfaces, but it can also be used to sanitize the blood. Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI) is a safe, proven technology where a predetermined amount of your blood is passed through a sterile, closed-loop system, exposed to UV light to kill bacteria and viruses, and then returned to your veins.

  • Duration: Appointments typically take between 45 and 90 minutes.
  • Benefit: Acts as a natural antibiotic and antiviral boost without the side effects of synthetic drugs.

Ozone Therapy: The Power of Oxygen

Oxygen is the enemy of viruses and bacteria. While the air we breathe has two oxygen molecules ($O_2$), Ozone has three ($O_3$). That third molecule provides incredible medicinal properties. At our center, Ozone therapy can be administered systemically via IV or applied to external wounds in a specialized “gas bath.”

This disinfection method is a powerful tool for managing:

  • Lyme Disease & Chronic Hepatitis
  • Cardiovascular and Auto-immune diseases
  • Diabetes and Macular Degeneration

IV Therapy: Bypassing the Impaired Gut

Often, the best way to treat chronic conditions like fibromyalgia, seasonal allergies, or a stubborn cold is to give the body the raw materials it needs to repair itself. Our IV Nutritional Therapies deliver vitamins and nutrients directly into the bloodstream.

By bypassing a potentially impaired digestive system, we ensure your cells receive 100% of the nutrients they need to re-establish a healthy “inner terrain.”
