Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI)
Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI) is a safe, proven medical procedure that kills bacteria and viruses, aids the immune system, and rejuvenates blood properties. It uses ultraviolet energy to increase the oxygen level in the blood, and inactivate microbes and toxins, promoting healing as a natural antibiotic. A patient’s blood is drawn, run through a device exposing it to ultraviolet rays, then returned to the patient’s vein.
UBI assists patients battling an infection and enables them to develop a direct, self-generated response. UBI can be used as a therapy in two forms, either as specific (i.e. psoriasis, lymph cancer) or non-specific (chronic infections, auto-immune diseases, etc.) The number of sessions needed may vary and depend on individual patient health, duration of patient illness, and severity of disease being treated.
