Identify Your Form
Oral (capsule/tablet) or injectable (vial). Your label tells you which.
2
Mix Only If Powder
If your vial arrives as liquid, you skip reconstitution.
3
Route Matters
SQ = under skin. IM = into muscle. Use only what your plan specifies.

Oral vs Injectable

A quick, patient-friendly overview of the most common formats.

Oral
Capsules / Tablets

Taken by mouth. Timing and dosing depend on your specific peptide and plan (for example: with food vs empty stomach).

Inj.
Vials (Powder or Liquid)

Injectable peptides may be prescribed as SQ or IM. Some vials arrive as powder and require reconstitution. Your label and plan tell you exactly what to do.

Reconstitution Guide (Powder → Liquid)

Only reconstitute if your vial contains powder. If it arrives as liquid, skip mixing. Always follow the mixing volume on your plan or pharmacy label.

You’ll Need
  • Peptide vial (powder)
  • Bacteriostatic water (BW)
  • Alcohol pads
  • Insulin syringe (units)
  • Sharps container
Gold-Standard Mixing Steps
  1. Wash hands. Wipe vial tops with alcohol; let dry.
  2. Draw BW into syringe (the exact volume from your plan).
  3. Inject slowly down the side of the vial (not forcefully into the powder).
  4. Gently swirl/roll until clear. Do not shake.
  5. Label the vial with the date mixed.
  6. Store in the refrigerator.
Safety reminder: Use a new sterile syringe each time. Never share needles/syringes. If anything seems off—pause and contact us.

Q & A

How do I know if I need to reconstitute?
If your vial contains powder, you reconstitute. If it arrives liquid, you do not.
Why “do not shake”?
Shaking can create bubbles/foam and may affect solution quality. Gentle swirl is best.
What’s the difference between SQ and IM?
SQ goes under the skin into fatty tissue. IM goes into muscle. Use only the route on your plan.
What if I miss a dose?
Do not double-dose. Resume your normal schedule and contact us if unsure.
What if the vial looks cloudy or has particles?
Do not inject. Take a photo and contact our office or the pharmacy.
Where should I store my peptide?
If reconstituted, store the peptide in the refrigerator; if still in powder form, store it at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
